TRAINING OPTIONS

Join the Life!

While each of our training programs do start from the beginning and show you and your dog how to achieve your goals, it doesn't end at graduation. We want to accomplish and create new goals through continued training by applying socialization, group sessions, new environments and distractions.

Each of our program options is a stepping stone into the ReviveK9 life, to ReviveK9 Dog Training Social Club. Each month we hold group sessions doing different types of events, (pack walks, off leash play, social hours, etc.) This way owners and dogs have the opportunity to continue putting their new found life into action, they are able to reinforce training and get to a place in training they never dreamed of!

BEHAVIOR PROGRAM

Program starting at $2250

Welcome to ReviveK9's Behavior Program, a specialized training initiative designed to address challenging canine behaviors and foster positive transformations. Our program is structured in two comprehensive phases, each meticulously crafted to meet the unique needs of dogs exhibiting severe behavior issues.

Phase 1: Foundational Rehabilitation

In Phase 1, we focus on establishing a solid foundation through targeted exercises and behavior modification techniques. Key components include obedience commands such as sit, down, place (with send away), heel, and recall, with an emphasis on duration and distance. Check-ins, muzzle acclimation, and play therapy/drive expression are integrated to promote positive interactions. Ecollar acclimation and exposure to mild distractions, including Bayview, neighborhoods, and in-home settings, are incorporated to build resilience.

The program unfolds over seven weeks, gradually progressing through a structured curriculum:

  • Week 1: Check-ins, eye contact games, and an introduction to hand feeding.

  • Week 2: Place duration and mild distance exercises.

  • Week 3: Continued place training, check-ins, and reinforcement of the down command.

  • Week 4: Ongoing reinforcement of the down command and introduction to loose leash pattern walks.

  • Week 5: Shaping the heel command, continued work on sit, down, and place, and an introduction to place send away.

  • Week 6: Advanced heel training, place send away reinforcement, and continued muzzle acclimation.

  • Week 7: Continuation of obedience training with a focus on refining learned commands.

Phase 2: Advanced Rehabilitation and Real-World Application

Phase 2 addresses real-world scenarios and advanced behaviors, including door routines, greetings, handler generalization, and exposure to high distractions in downtown areas, stores, breweries, and with guests in the home. Group classes, vetting practice (if needed), social sessions, and resource guarding routines are incorporated as required.

Our program's flexible structure allows for customization based on the unique case, ensuring that each dog's rehabilitation journey is tailored to its specific challenges and needs. We are committed to providing effective solutions and empowering both dogs and their owners to overcome severe behavior issues, fostering a positive and lasting transformation in their relationship.

CATEY CUESTA

Pensacola Lead Trainer

Reactivity and Aggression Specialist

Catey Cuesta's journey in the world of animal care began in Memphis, TN, where her early passion for all creatures led her family to foster for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County during her high school years. Graduating to a professional role as a kennel tech, Cuesta witnessed firsthand the behavioral challenges faced by dogs at the shelter, given the organization's focus on injured and abused animals. Undeterred, she took the initiative to establish a comprehensive training program tailored to each dog's specific needs. Her efforts resulted in the resolution of numerous behavioral issues before dogs found their forever homes.

Relocating to Oxford, MS, Cuesta pursued a degree in Psychology while working at a local animal hospital. Ascending to the role of Resort Coordinator, she managed doggie daycare and boarding, notably overseeing a facility that welcomed non-dog-friendly dogs into its daycare—a testament to her skill in fostering positive interactions among diverse canine personalities. Cuesta extended her impact on local dogs by providing pet-sitting services for those with behavioral issues, offering private training sessions, and fostering for the community shelter.

In 2020, Cuesta graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's in Applied Science of Psychology. Her dedication to animal welfare continued as she worked at the local animal shelter, where she played a pivotal role in exposing and addressing injustices within the organization. This advocacy led to positive changes, including the closure of the shelter, creating space for reform.

Cuesta's journey then brought her to Pensacola, FL, where she collaborated with Dog's Playing for Life, receiving formal training in rehabilitating dogs with severe behavioral issues. Ready to establish roots and contribute to a community, she joined ReviveK9. As a valued member of our team, Catey has not only saved many canine lives but has also played a crucial role in shaping our training programs for dogs and new trainers alike. Her dedication and expertise equip dog owners with the tools necessary for a joyful life alongside their canine companions. We are thrilled to have her as an integral part of the ReviveK9 team.

MARIA MADEY

Pensacola Reactivity and Obedience Specialist

Maria Madey's journey with animals began in Addison, IL, where her deep connection to them was evident from a young age. Exploring shelters, farms, and avidly watching service dog and working dog trainers on various platforms fueled her passion for the world of canines.

Determined to make a difference, Maria persuaded her family to become short-term fosters for a local shelter, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to animal welfare. Despite family allergies preventing permanent adoptions, Maria's involvement in fostering became an integral part of her story.

Upon relocating to Pensacola, FL, Maria shifted her academic focus to Marine Biology at UWF. Her desire to contribute to the well-being of dogs and cats led her to a position at the Pensacola Humane Society. Here, she not only cared for animals but also dedicated her off-time to training them in basic commands.

Maria's journey took a significant turn when, four months after settling in Pensacola, she welcomed Oliver, a Neapolitan Mastiff, into her life. Oliver's size and the breed's reputed stubbornness prompted Maria to delve deeper into the realm of dog training. This experience ignited a profound passion that has continued to grow.

Now an invaluable member of the ReviveK9 team, Maria's dedication to dog training is evident. Her journey from fostering in Illinois to pursuing a degree in Marine Biology and becoming a skilled trainer in Pensacola showcases her unwavering commitment to the well-being and training of dogs. The ReviveK9 team considers itself fortunate to have Maria on board, knowing that her passion for training will undoubtedly lead her to remarkable heights in the field.
